Polyethylene Oxide MW 1,000,000 (CAS 25322-68-3) is pharma-grade ultra-high molecular weight PEO specially developed for direct compression formulation. Medium molecular weight PEO has insufficient binding strength; extra-high molecular weight grades may cause excessive swelling and uncontrollable dissolution rate. This 1M grade balances compressibility, binding performance and matrix sustained-release capability. It can be directly dry blended with APIs and other excipients, simplifying manufacturing by removing wet granulation steps. During compression, polymer particles bond powder mixture tightly to produce intact tablets. Meanwhile, the hydrated gel layer enables adjustable sustained release for long-acting pharmaceutical preparations.
