IM300 is maleic anhydride grafted polyolefin toughener supplied as free-flowing pellets, engineered specially for thin-wall polyamide applications. The grafted MAH functional groups react with terminal amine groups of nylon resin during twin-screw compounding to build strong interfacial bonding. Its optimized molecular structure preserves high melt flow while providing effective impact toughening performance. IM300 solves filling difficulty and brittleness problems for thin-wall PA molded parts,
Product Detail PageChemical IdentityIM300 is maleic anhydride (MAH) grafted polyolefin produced via reactive grafting modification. It is delivered in pellet form for steady feeding in continuous twin-screw extrusion. The MAH functional groups on polyolefin backbone react with amine end-groups of PA6 and PA66 under melt compounding temperature, forming covalent bonds at the phase interface. The flexible polyolefin phase is finely dispersed within polyamide matrix. Compared with conventional MAH-grafted tougheners, IM300 features controlled molecular weight to retain superior melt flow without losing toughening efficiency. It shows good thermal stability under standard nylon processing temperatures.
Key PerformanceFlexible polyolefin segments absorb impact energy and restrain crack propagation when thin-wall PA parts suffer mechanical stress. MAH grafting enhances interfacial adhesion between polyolefin rubber phase and polyamide matrix, preventing interfacial debonding. IM300 maintains high melt flow of PA compound, enabling smooth melt filling in ultra-thin mold cavities during high-speed injection molding. It increases notched impact strength of thin-wall nylon products and reduces the risk of part cracking at thin cross-sections. The formulated compound keeps balanced rigidity and heat resistance. It ensures consistent processing stability for large-volume thin-wall production.
ApplicationsIM300 is developed for thin-wall PA6, PA66 compounds including neat and glass fiber reinforced nylon grades. It is widely used for injection molding of thin-wall electronic connectors, mini electrical housings, thin automotive functional parts and lightweight mechanical components. It fits high-cycle mass production molding where excellent melt flow and reliable impact toughness are required simultaneously. It is suitable for halogen-free nylon formulations used in electrical and electronic industries.
Storage & HandlingStore IM300 pellets in sealed original bags inside cool, dry and ventilated warehouse. Recommended storage temperature 10-30℃. Avoid direct sunlight and high humidity to prevent pellet caking. Anti-static protection should be adopted during pellet transfer and feeding. Once packaging bag is opened, consume pellets promptly to avoid moisture absorption. Do not stack pallets excessively high to prevent pellet crushing.
