4700 is a general-purpose reactive terpolymer impact modifier supplied as free-flowing pellets, specially designed for polyamide nylon toughening. Its reactive functional groups chemically bond with terminal groups of PA resin during twin-screw extrusion. The flexible polymer backbone absorbs impact energy efficiently. It upgrades notched impact strength of neat PA, glass-filled and mineral-filled nylon grades while keeping balanced rigidity and heat resistance. This universal toughening additiv
Product Detail PageChemical Identity4700 is reactive olefin-based terpolymer manufactured via polymerization, formulated with reactive functional side groups. It is provided in pellet form for stable feeding in continuous extrusion production. The reactive groups react with amine and carboxyl end groups of polyamide molecules under compounding temperature, forming strong interfacial linkage between PA matrix and modifier phase. The elastic polymer segments are uniformly dispersed inside nylon matrix after melt blending. It possesses good thermal stability under conventional nylon processing temperatures and will not decompose easily during extrusion and injection molding.
Key PerformanceElastic polymer segments absorb mechanical impact energy when molded nylon components bear external force. The reactive functional groups enhance interfacial adhesion between modifier and polyamide resin, reducing interface debonding and inhibiting crack spread. 4700 greatly improves room-temperature notched impact strength of nylon compounds. It maintains good tensile strength and heat deflection temperature in properly formulated PA systems. It delivers stable melt flow performance in twin-screw compounding and brings consistent toughening effect for various filled nylon grades. As a general-grade toughener, it balances performance and cost for mass production of standard polyamide compounds.
Applications4700 is general-purpose impact modifier for PA6, PA66, neat polyamide, glass fiber reinforced PA and mineral filled PA compounds. Typical finished articles include automotive interior plastic parts, electrical enclosures, mechanical brackets, fasteners and general injection molded nylon components. It fits conventional polyamide compound projects requiring basic toughening performance. It can be applied in halogen-free nylon formulations for electrical applications.
Storage & HandlingStore 4700 pellets in sealed original bags in cool, dry and ventilated warehouse. Recommended storage temperature 10-30℃. Avoid direct sunlight and high humidity to prevent pellet caking. Anti-static protection is required during pellet transfer and feeding process. Once the bag is opened, consume the pellets quickly to avoid moisture absorption. Do not stack pallets too high to prevent pellet crushing under heavy weight.
