DPHP (Di(2‑Propylheptyl) Phthalate, CAS 26761‑40‑0) is a high‑molecular‑weight primary phthalate plasticizer. It features extremely low volatility and outstanding thermal resistance. It maintains stable softness under sustained elevated‑temperature service conditions. The product shows superior compatibility with PVC resin, primarily applied for automotive interior parts and automotive cable insulation and sheathing, suitable for PVC formulations that demand long‑term high‑temperature ageing per
Product DetailsDPHP is a clear, pale‑yellow viscous oily liquid. Its longer alkyl side‑chain structure effectively suppresses molecular evaporation under thermal exposure, delivering markedly lower volatility compared to DINP and other conventional phthalate plasticizers. It provides efficient plasticization to lower PVC glass‑transition temperature and imparts good flexibility and elongation to finished PVC compounds.
Resistance to thermal ageing is the core advantage of DPHP. When finished PVC parts are exposed to continuous high‑temperature environment inside vehicle cabins, less plasticizer will escape from the polymer matrix, which reduces interior fogging phenomenon of automotive plastic components. This characteristic makes it well‑suited for automotive interior soft trim parts and automotive wiring cables, including cable insulation and outer sheathing layers for engine compartment and vehicle dashboard wiring.
DPHP can be used independently as the main plasticizer. It is also compatible with polymeric plasticizers and other auxiliary plasticizers for customized compounding. During extrusion, injection and calendering processing for automotive‑grade PVC, matching heat stabilizer systems are required to restrain polymer decomposition under high‑temperature shearing.
For storage, keep material in tightly sealed steel drums within cool, dry and well‑ventilated warehouse. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight and excessive ambient heat. Use proper gloves and eye protection during material transfer and pumping operations. Prevent spillage and ground contamination.
