Benzoate Plasticizer is a non‑phthalate aromatic ester plasticizer developed for aqueous polymer systems. It offers good compatibility with acrylic polymer dispersions. This product reduces film‑forming temperature, enhances the flexibility of dried adhesive film, and optimizes the extrusion property of waterborne sealant and caulk. It is widely used in water‑based acrylic adhesive, waterborne sealant and caulking compound production.

Product DetailsThis benzoate plasticizer is a pale‑yellow, moderately viscous oily liquid. It functions as a permanent plasticizer inside water‑based acrylic dispersion systems. During film‑formation after water evaporation, the plasticizer penetrates into acrylic polymer chains to weaken intermolecular forces. It effectively lowers the minimum film‑forming temperature of aqueous acrylic emulsion, allowing continuous, crack‑free film creation at relatively low ambient temperature.

It improves the flexibility and elongation of fully dried adhesive and sealant films, preventing the cured caulk layer from hardening, shrinking and cracking under alternating thermal conditions. The plasticizer shows proper emulsion‑stabilizing performance when incorporated into waterborne formulations under adequate stirring. However, improper feeding speed and insufficient agitation may trigger local coagulation of acrylic latex.

It is mainly applied for water‑based acrylic adhesive, acrylic caulking compounds and waterborne joint sealant. It can be combined with coalescing agents to optimize overall film‑forming behavior. Formulators should test dosage carefully; excessive addition will reduce tensile strength, surface tack and water‑resistance of the final cured sealant.

For production processing, this benzoate plasticizer should be added under high‑speed stirring into the latex phase. It is not suitable for direct dilution with pure water. Store in tightly sealed drums within cool, dry and ventilated warehouse. Avoid direct sunlight and sustained high‑temperature storage. Wear protective gloves and safety goggles during material transfer operations. Prevent liquid spillage.
