Stearic Acid Coated Calcite Powder (Ground Calcium Carbonate / GCC) is produced from natural high‑purity calcite ore via ultrafine grinding, air classification and stearic‑acid surface coating. The stearic‑acid treatment modifies particle surface property and enhances compatibility with polyolefin and engineering plastic resins. This ultrafine mineral filler is widely used in plastic modification, helping to increase filling loading, improve surface smoothness of molded parts and lower overall f
Product DetailsThis stearic‑acid coated calcite powder starts with carefully selected natural calcite deposits. The raw ore undergoes coarse crushing, multi‑stage ultrafine grinding and precise air‑classification to control narrow particle‑size distribution and eliminate coarse grit contaminants. Continuous dry‑coating process applies stearic acid onto individual mineral particle surfaces.
Untreated ground calcite is hydrophilic. When mixed into plastic systems, poor resin‑filler interfacial affinity tends to cause particle agglomeration, higher melt viscosity, surface marks and flow defects during extrusion or injection molding. The stearic‑acid coating renders the particle surface organophilic. It improves powder free‑flowing property, reduces moisture absorption tendency, and promotes homogeneous dispersion inside molten polymer matrix during high‑speed compounding.
The product features stable chemical composition, low heavy‑metal impurities and consistent whiteness. When incorporated into plastic formulations, it can increase rigidity and hardness of finished plastic components. Proper addition helps to improve dimensional stability and reduce shrinkage of molded articles. As a cost‑effective mineral filler, it allows higher filler loading to decrease consumption of expensive virgin resin.
Excessive loading will inevitably lead to a decline in impact strength and elongation, so appropriate dosage testing is required for each individual plastic formulation.
Typical application fields include PP, PE, PVC, TPO, and other thermoplastic compounds for injection‑molded household goods, plastic sheets, extrusion profiles and filler‑modified masterbatch.
Packaging adopts 25 kg moisture‑proof woven bags with inner polyethylene liner. Keep packages tightly sealed during transportation and warehouse storage. Store in cool, dry indoor warehouse, avoid moisture absorption and powder caking. Do not stack pallets at excessive height to prevent bag rupture. Wear dust‑proof masks and protective gloves during powder‑handling operations.
