Product DetailsThis zwitterionic surfactant blend contains molecules carrying both cationic and anionic functional groups within a single molecular structure. Owing to its amphoteric characteristic, the product demonstrates broad compatibility across varied pH ranges in water‑based ink and aqueous coating formulations. It can be added during ink grinding stage or at the later letdown phase under moderate stirring, without requiring high‑shear dispersion.
After being incorporated into water‑based printing ink or aqueous coating, the zwitterionic surfactant distributes uniformly inside the liquid system. During high‑speed roll‑to‑roll processing, continuous friction between moving substrate and machine rollers creates static electric charges. The incorporated additive migrates toward the liquid‑air interface of the wet ink or wet coating, forming a micro‑conductive surface layer. This conductive layer quickly dissipates static charges generated on the web, preventing static‑driven ejection of tiny ink droplets, which is the primary cause of ink mist. With ink‑mist effectively restrained, scattered ink speck defects are reduced, cleaning frequency for printing rollers is decreased, and overall production efficiency and finished print quality are improved.
Even though zwitterionic surfactants feature wide‑pH compatibility, formulation verification remains necessary. Interaction with particular color pigments, resin binders and thickeners may alter ink viscosity, stability or foaming behaviour. Excessive addition will aggravate foaming tendency of water‑based ink and coating. Severe foam creates pinholes, craters and surface irregularities on printed or coated layers. Insufficient dosage cannot achieve satisfactory static neutralization and anti‑ink‑mist results.
The antistatic performance exhibits mild humidity dependency. Under extremely low‑humidity workshop conditions, static‑neutralizing capacity will decline slightly. Recommended dosage ranges from 0.25 wt%‑1.2 wt% based on total weight of ink or water‑based coating formulation. Pre‑production laboratory evaluation must test system compatibility, viscosity variation, foaming property, static dissipation effect, drying behaviour and long‑term storage stability of finished ink and coating.
Store the printing static neutralizing agent inside tightly sealed containers in cool, dry and ventilated warehouse. Avoid direct sunlight and excessive heat. Reseal the container immediately after each sampling operation to prevent water evaporation and contamination.
