Polyethylene Oxide MW 8,000,000 (CAS 25322-68-3) is ultra-high molecular weight PEO specially developed for veterinary sustained-release formulations. Medium molecular weight PEO cannot maintain long-term controlled release effect; excessively high molecular weight grades lead to poor flowability and difficult tableting. This 8M grade balances sustained release performance, binding capacity and production processability.
After oral administration, the polymer gradually hydrates to build a gel layer on the tablet surface, restricting drug dissolution and extending action time inside animal digestive tract.
