PEBA is polyether block polyamide elastomer, supplied as free-flowing pellets. It consists of rigid polyamide segments and flexible polyether blocks in its molecular chain. This unique structure combines high elasticity, low density and excellent rebound property. When blended with engineering plastics, PEBA delivers outstanding toughening effect without adding excessive weight. It improves impact resistance and flexibility of finished parts. PEBA is widely used for compounding high-performance
Product Detail PageChemical IdentityPEBA is thermoplastic polyether block amide elastomer synthesized by copolymerization of polyamide hard segments and polyether soft segments. It is available in pellet form, suitable for continuous feeding in twin-screw extrusion and injection molding. The hard PA segments provide mechanical strength and heat resistance, while flexible polyether segments contribute elasticity and high rebound. PEBA has low density compared with conventional elastomers. It maintains stable performance under typical processing temperatures of many engineering plastics.
Key PerformanceFlexible polyether blocks absorb impact energy efficiently. Rigid PA segments preserve structural strength of blends. PEBA features low density to reduce part weight and high rebound for dynamic load applications. It enhances impact toughness and flexibility of modified engineering plastics. It shows good fatigue resistance and low-temperature elasticity. PEBA can be well dispersed during melt compounding, bringing consistent mechanical properties to finished molded products.
ApplicationsPEBA serves as toughening modifier for multiple engineering plastic systems. Typical end products include lightweight automotive components, sports protective parts, flexible electronic accessories and vibration-damping mechanical elements. It fits formulations requiring low density, high rebound and balanced toughness. It can be used in halogen-free compounding projects for electrical fields.
Storage & HandlingStore PEBA pellets in sealed original bags inside cool, dry and ventilated warehouse. Recommended storage temperature 10-30℃. Avoid direct sunlight and high humidity to prevent pellet caking. Anti-static protection is required during pellet transfer and feeding. Once packaging bag is opened, consume pellets promptly to avoid moisture absorption. Do not stack pallets excessively high to prevent pellet crushing under heavy load.
