GR216 is maleic anhydride grafted POE toughener supplied as free-flowing pellets, designed for impact modification of polyamide alloy systems. The grafted MAH functional groups chemically react with terminal amine groups of nylon resin during twin-screw melt compounding, establishing strong interfacial bonding between POE elastomer and PA matrix. The flexible POE backbone efficiently absorbs impact energy, greatly enhancing toughness of PA alloys. GR216 minimizes brittle fracture risk for neat,
Product Detail PageChemical IdentityGR216 is maleic anhydride grafted polyolefin elastomer (POE-g-MAH) produced via reactive graft modification technology. It is provided in pellet form for stable continuous feeding within twin-screw extrusion lines. The MAH functional groups grafted on POE chains react with amine end-groups of PA6 and PA66 under melt processing temperature, forming covalent bonds at the two-phase interface. The elastomeric POE segment maintains excellent elasticity to deliver toughening effect. GR216 possesses good thermal stability under standard nylon compounding temperature and resists degradation during extrusion and injection molding.
Key PerformanceElastic POE segments dissipate mechanical impact energy when PA alloy components bear external loads. Grafted maleic anhydride improves interfacial adhesion between rubber phase and polyamide matrix, restraining interfacial debonding and stopping crack expansion. GR216 significantly increases room-temperature notched impact strength of nylon alloys. It maintains balanced tensile modulus and heat deflection temperature in properly formulated PA systems. It exhibits stable melt flow during continuous extrusion compounding and provides consistent toughening performance for reinforced nylon grades.
ApplicationsGR216 is used for impact modification of PA6, PA66 neat nylon, glass fiber reinforced PA and mineral filled PA alloy compounds. Typical finished products include automotive structural plastic components, electrical housings, power tool parts and general mechanical injection molded nylon components. It fits formulations that require high toughness and balanced mechanical properties. It can be used in halogen-free nylon compounds for electrical and electronic industry.
Storage & HandlingStore GR216 pellets in sealed original bags inside cool, dry and ventilated warehouse. Recommended storage temperature 10-30℃. Avoid direct sunlight and high humidity to prevent pellet caking. Anti-static protection is required during pellet transfer and feeding. Once packaging bag is opened, consume pellets promptly to avoid moisture absorption. Do not stack pallets excessively high to prevent pellet crushing under heavy load.
