Nano Bentonite Clay CAS 1318-93-0 is organically modified layered silicate nanofiller derived from natural bentonite via cation exchange modification.
Unmodified bentonite is hydrophilic and hard to disperse in rubber. After organic surface treatment, the material becomes organophilic and possesses excellent compatibility with various rubber formulations. In the rubber kneading process, stacked silicate layers can be exfoliated into nanosheets and uniformly distributed within rubber matrix. The interleaved lamellar structure forms tortuous diffusion paths to block gas penetration, greatly enhancing air tightness and air retention capacity of rubber compounds. Besides outstanding gas barrier performance, this product also upgrades tensile strength, thermal stability and dimensional stability.
