Lithium Magnesium Silicate Powder Medium-Transparency CAS 67142-95-4, Synthetic Hectorite for Water-Based Paint Coating & Daily Chemical

Lithium Magnesium Silicate Powder, medium‑transparency synthetic hectorite, CAS 67142‑95‑4. It is produced by hydrothermal synthesis, moderate purification and spray‑drying. When dispersed into aqueous medium, the powder exfoliates into silicate nanosheets and builds reversible thixotropic colloidal networks. This grade is dedicated to water‑based paint, coating and daily‑chemical formulations, providing effective suspension, anti‑sagging and storage stabilization for pigment‑containing systems.

Product Detail PageLithium Magnesium Silicate Powder Medium‑Transparency CAS 67142‑95‑4, Synthetic Hectorite for Water‑Based Paint Coating & Daily ChemicalThis medium‑transparency synthetic hectorite powder is manufactured via hydrothermal crystallization of inorganic raw materials, followed by filtration treatment and spray‑drying. Compared with high‑transparency grades, it adopts moderate purification workflow, maintaining stable layered silicate crystal structure with acceptable trace insoluble micro‑particles. Batch consistency is superior to naturally mined hectorite clay, and this grade provides favorable cost‑performance for general‑grade water‑based paints, industrial coatings and daily‑chemical formulations that do not require absolute optical clarity.

Upon high‑speed stirring dispersion in water, the powder hydrates gradually and exfoliates into nanoscale silicate platelets. These platelets interconnect to construct a three‑dimensional reversible colloidal network within the aqueous phase. Under static storage conditions, the network elevates base viscosity of liquid systems. It suspends inorganic pigments, mineral fillers and functional fine solids inside water‑based paint and daily‑chemical formulas, effectively slowing pigment sedimentation and hard caking at the bottom of storage containers. When subjected to shear force during brushing, rolling or mixing, the colloidal network breaks down and system viscosity decreases, improving coating leveling and processing fluidity. Once mechanical shear is removed, the gel‑like network rebuilds rapidly to deliver excellent anti‑sagging performance on vertical coating surfaces.

This medium‑transparency synthetic hectorite exhibits good compatibility with water‑based acrylic emulsions, styrene‑acrylic emulsions and common surfactants applied in daily‑chemical products. It can be used together with cellulosic thickeners, associative polyurethane thickeners to adjust overall rheological curves. Slight residual micro‑impurities will induce mild hazing in aqueous gel systems; therefore this grade is not suitable for ultra‑transparent cosmetic serums or optical gel applications. It is well suited for matte water‑based paint, colored industrial water‑borne coating, household detergents and general‑purpose daily‑chemical products where moderate haze is acceptable.

During production formulation, sufficient pre‑hydration under high‑speed agitation is essential to break up powder agglomerates before mixing with emulsion resin or surfactant components. High‑electrolyte environments should be avoided, because excessive salt ions will restrain the exfoliation of silicate nanosheets, reduce gel strength and aggravate system hazing.

The product requires hermetically sealed dry storage to prevent moisture‑induced caking, which would reduce hydration efficiency and rheological effectiveness. During material weighing and conveying, cross‑contamination with high‑transparency cosmetic‑grade or heavy‑industrial turbid‑grade synthetic hectorite should be strictly avoided, as mixed grades will cause unpredictable shifts in system rheology and final appearance of finished paint and daily‑chemical goods. This medium‑transparency lithium magnesium silicate serves as a cost‑effective inorganic rheology modifier for water‑based paint, industrial coating and general daily‑chemical formulations.
