Crosslinker MQ Silicone Resin CAS 67763-19-3, Multi-Functional MQ Resin for Addition-Cure Silicone & Coating Crosslinking

Crosslinker MQ Silicone Resin CAS 67763‑19‑3 is a hydrogen‑rich multi‑functional M‑Q structured silicone resin synthesized through co‑hydrolysis and polycondensation of hydrogen‑containing silane, methyl silane and tetra‑functional silicate monomers. Abundant Si‑H reactive sites are distributed over the three‑dimensional resin skeleton. Under platinum catalyst, Si‑H groups react with vinyl‑silicone components via hydrosilylation. It serves as crosslinking component for addition‑cure silicone rub

Crosslinker MQ Silicone Resin CAS 67763‑19‑3, Multi‑Functional MQ Resin for Addition‑Cure Silicone & Coating Crosslinking

This multi‑functional crosslinker MQ silicone resin is produced by controlled co‑hydrolysis and polycondensation of hydrogen‑functional silane monomers, methyl silane and tetraalkoxysilane. The molecular framework is constructed from monofunctional M‑units and tetrafunctional Q‑units. Reactive Si‑H groups are grafted onto M‑unit segments of the rigid three‑dimensional resin framework. The hydrogen content can be adjusted during synthesis to match different vinyl content within base silicone polymers for addition‑cure formulations.

Unlike conventional linear hydrogen‑containing silicone crosslinkers, this MQ‑type crosslinker possesses a compact branched resin structure. Multiple Si‑H reactive sites exist on one single resin macromolecule. During platinum‑mediated hydrosilylation curing, these Si‑H moieties react with vinyl groups on silicone gums, LSR components or silicone coating binders. The rigid MQ resin segments are chemically embedded into the final cross‑linked network. Consequently, the cured system achieves higher cross‑link density, elevated hardness, improved modulus and superior high‑temperature resistance compared with formulations adopting linear Si‑H crosslinkers only.

When used within addition‑cure silicone rubber systems, this crosslinker MQ resin helps to lower compression‑set values and suppress thermal softening at elevated service temperatures. For solvent‑based or solvent‑free addition‑curable silicone coatings, it promotes the formation of dense cured coating films, enhancing scratch resistance, solvent resistance and anti‑abrasion performance of the finished coating layer.

This resin displays good solubility in common silicone solvents and aromatic hydrocarbon solvents. Strict exclusion of catalyst poisons is mandatory during compounding. Sulfur‑containing, nitrogen‑containing and heavy‑metal impurities must be kept away from the formulation system, since these contaminants will deactivate platinum catalyst and result in incomplete surface or deep curing. The stoichiometric matching between Si‑H of MQ crosslinker and vinyl groups of base polymer is critical. Excessive Si‑H residue may cause hydrogen gas evolution and generate micro‑bubbles inside rubber or coating film, while insufficient Si‑H content leads to under‑curing and poor mechanical properties.

During processing, sufficient low‑shear blending is required to disperse the MQ crosslinker resin uniformly with vinyl‑containing silicone base materials before catalyst addition. Premature mixing with platinum catalyst should be avoided to prevent unwanted pre‑reaction and premature gelation at room temperature.

The product must be stored hermetically under cool, dry conditions away from platinum‑based catalyst residues. Direct mixing with vinyl‑functional silicone without proper formulation control shall be avoided. Cross‑contamination with silanol‑rich condensation‑cure silicone raw materials is prohibited during material handling. This multi‑functional MQ silicone crosslinking resin is a specialized cross‑linking raw material for addition‑cure silicone elastomer and high‑performance silicone coating systems.
