Nano Fe₃O₄ CAS 1317-61-9 Product Details Page (Pure English, No Tables)

Product Overview

Nano Fe₃O₄, also known as nano magnetite powder, CAS 1317-61-9, is high-purity superfine magnetic nanopowder. It acts as an efficient heterogeneous Fenton catalyst specially designed for advanced industrial wastewater treatment.
Unlike traditional homogeneous Fenton agents, nano Fe₃O₄ can activate hydrogen peroxide to produce free radicals, which break down refractory organic contaminants in sewage. With outstanding magnetic characteristics, the catalyst can be quickly separated and recycled by an external magnetic field. It effectively lowers iron ion leaching, reduces sludge generation and secondary pollution. Meanwhile, it broadens the applicable pH range of Fenton oxidation technology and cuts overall operating costs for wastewater treatment projects.

Product Specifications

The product appears as black powder with purity higher than 98%. The primary particle size ranges from 20 nm to 100 nm and can be customized on demand. It owns spinel cubic crystal structure and shows superparamagnetic performance. The bulk density is between 0.6 g/cm³ and 1.0 g/cm³, and the moisture content is controlled below 1.0%.

Core Advantages

It delivers outstanding catalytic activity. Large specific surface area accelerates the activation of hydrogen peroxide, enabling rapid removal of COD, dyes, phenols, antibiotics and other persistent organic pollutants.
Magnetic recycling brings obvious economic benefits. The material can be recovered easily through magnetic separation and reused in multiple reaction cycles to decrease chemical input.
It adapts to wider pH conditions. Stable catalytic effect can be maintained under neutral and weak acidic environment, breaking the strict pH restriction of traditional ferrous-based Fenton systems.
Less sludge will be generated. The leakage of soluble iron is greatly inhibited, so the iron sludge output is far lower than conventional Fenton process and simplifies subsequent sludge disposal work.
The material has reliable chemical stability. It features good acid resistance and oxidation resistance, maintaining stable performance during continuous long-term wastewater treatment.

Application Scope

This product serves as heterogeneous Fenton and Fenton-like catalyst for advanced oxidation treatment of various industrial wastewater. It is widely applied in the treatment of textile printing and dyeing wastewater, chemical production wastewater, pharmaceutical wastewater containing antibiotics, coking and refinery wastewater, as well as papermaking wastewater. It works efficiently for sewage containing phenols, dyestuffs and all kinds of hard-to-degrade organic substances.

Usage Guidance

The suitable reaction pH range is 3 to 8. The recommended catalyst dosage is 0.5 to 2 grams per liter of wastewater, and the actual dosage should be adjusted according to the COD concentration of raw sewage.
The catalyst needs to cooperate with hydrogen peroxide to build the complete Fenton oxidation system. After the reaction finishes, recover the catalyst by magnetic separator. Simply wash the recovered powder and put it into the reaction system for repeated use.

Packing & Storage

Standard packing adopts 25kg kraft paper bags or plastic drums. Small sample packages can be provided upon requests.
The material should be sealed and stored in cool and dry conditions. Avoid long-term exposure to humid ambient air. This product belongs to common industrial chemical and is not classified as dangerous goods during transportation.
