Product Detail PageChemical IdentityAX8900 is reactive terpolymer with high GMA concentration synthesized by high-pressure polymerization. The glycidyl methacrylate segments carry reactive epoxy functional groups along polymer backbone. It is delivered in pellet form for easy feeding in continuous extrusion. The epoxy groups can react with carboxyl and amine end-groups of nylon, PBT and PET at compounding temperature, building covalent bonds across polymer phase interfaces. Compared with standard GMA toughener grades, higher GMA loading delivers stronger interfacial coupling effect for blended alloy systems. It exhibits good thermal stability under conventional processing temperatures of nylon, PBT and PET.
Key PerformanceThe flexible acrylate-based polymer matrix absorbs impact energy under mechanical load. High density of reactive GMA groups strengthens interfacial adhesion between immiscible polymer phases, restraining phase separation and micro crack growth. AX8900 effectively increases notched impact strength of nylon/PBT, nylon/PET, PBT/PET blended alloys. It reduces shrinkage and improves surface quality of injection molded alloy parts. It maintains stable melt flow during extrusion compounding, and does not cause obvious decline of heat deflection temperature in properly formulated alloy systems. It simplifies alloy formulation by combining compatibilizing and toughening functions in one additive.
ApplicationsAX8900 is designed as compatibilizer and toughener for nylon, PBT, PET based engineering plastic alloys. It is suitable for glass fiber reinforced, mineral filled polymer blends. Typical finished products include automotive structural parts, electronic housings, power tool components and mechanical injection molded parts made from engineering alloys. It is applicable for formulations requiring balanced toughness, dimensional stability and good surface appearance. It works well in halogen-free engineering plastic compounds for electrical applications.
Storage & HandlingStore AX8900 pellets in sealed original bags within cool, dry and ventilated warehouse. Recommended storage temperature ranges 10-30℃. Keep away from direct sunlight and high humidity environment to prevent pellet caking. Anti-static measures are recommended during material transfer and feeding operation. Once the bag is opened, consume the pellets quickly to avoid moisture absorption. Avoid over stacking pallets to prevent pellet crushing under heavy load.
